DB2 DBA Administration Tools Part 1

IBM DB2 for i5/OS V5R4 adds a significant set of tools to help database administrators better understand what the 'system optimizer' component uses to perform queries and provides information to advise the DBA where creating additional database objects can improve performance. This demo describes the Index Advisor, Visual Explain, and the SQL Plan Cache tools.

DB2 DBA Administration Tools Part 2

IBM DB2 for i5/OS V5R4 extends the Database Monitor component that has been available since the product was introduced in 1988. This demo shows new capabilities added to i5/OS for doing comparison and analysis of the effects of changing query objects.

Understanding DB2 Schema to Reverse Engineer Data

Often a DBA new to an application or system would like to understand how a set of schema and tables were defined, and the relationships between relational data. This demo shows some of the capabilities provided by the graphical interface of IBM DB2 for i5/OS, called iSeries Navigator, to reverse engineer defined DB2 tables.
